3.“Fushimi, Kyoto” – One of Japan’s Leading Sake Regions 🍶 (23 Feb 2026)

This area is easily accessible by Kintetsu train in about 15 minutes from Kyoto Station. We recommend some must-visit shops around Momoyamagoryomae Station that sake lovers shouldn’t miss!

  • Gekkeikan Okura Sake Museum

Founded in 1637 during the early Edo period, “Gekkeikan” is one of Japan’s major sake producers with a history of almost 400 years. The museum is filled with a spirit of challenge and creativity. Inside, you’ll find numerous antique sake-making tools and a central garden offering a beautiful view of the brewery. After visiting the museum, you can use the token you received upon entry to sample three different types of sake.

  • Tsuki no Kurabito

If you want a lunch spot during your sake trip, we recommend the “Kurabito Gozen” set meal, which includes a variety of Kyoto’s famous dishes on one platter. The menu changes monthly and is available in limited quantities.
Another popular dish is “Eel Rice Bowl,” with crispy grilled skin and tender, fluffy flesh – a perfect combination.

  • Fushimi Sakagura Koji

Our final recommendation will make your Fushimi stroll even more perfect! Past the curtain, you’ll find a sake counter and eight exquisite food stalls lined up, living up to its name, “Sake Alley.” There’s a wide variety of food to choose from, including sushi, seafood, okonomiyaki, kushikatsu, charcoal-grilled dishes, Chinese food, and ramen.

The special feature is that you can order food from each stall and have it delivered to your table via their unique system!
We recommend the 9-sake tasting set with delicious appetizers, perfect for enjoying Fushimi until late at night.
For those with a stronger tolerance, there’s even an 18-sake tasting set!
