Three best ice cream shops to visit in Tokyo!

Jan 09, 2020

Tokyo never plays when it comes to desserts; you can find the best cake, wagashi (Japanese confectionery), kakigori (shaved ice), and of course, ice cream. From organic ice cream to guilt-free vegan friendly ice cream, today we’ll introduce you to three best ice cream shops to try in Tokyo!

Three twins ice cream

The first ice cream shop to introduce is Three twins, a Californian-born organic ice cream shop.
Unlike other ice cream shops, the ice cream here doesn’t use artificial coloring, seasonings, and preservatives.

Currently, they’re offering 14 different flavors (2 of them are limited edition), and our favorite flavors are “bittersweet chocolate” and “mocha difference”.

You can get your ice cream in a cup or cone, and we paid 858 yen (tax included) for the double scoop ice cream cone.
You can add toppings if you want to, each costs 88 yen (tax included).

There are a lot of Three twins branches in Japan, but the most famous branches are located in Dainkanyama and Shinjuku (Shinjuku NEWOMAN).

Hot gelato sandwich at Handel’s Café

Handel’s Café is a small coffee shop at Tobu Department Store in Ikebukuro, and it’s famous for its well-crafted coffee and gelato ice cream.
The café uses only the best milk for its drinks and gelato; mostly produced in Hokkaido, Nagano, and Daisen (Tottori).

The gelato here are sold in a cup, a cone, or in between of hot breads.

Yes, Handel’s Café is famous for its amazing hot gelato sandwich; two scoops of gelato sandwiched with freshly toasted bread,
and we’re rooting for it! Costs around 600 yen per portion, you can choose 2 of your favorite gelato flavors and the staff will make the hot sandwich for you right away.

Since the bread is a little hot, the gelato will melt right away after it gets into your mouth!

Made from raw organic coconut cream and natural sweeteners like dates and honey, the ice cream at Kippy’s are not only healthy, but also vegan-friendly since it’s dairy-free. The ice cream are also gluten-free, so those suffering from food allergies can still eat their ice cream.

There are a lot of flavors to choose at Kippy’s, but our favorite flavors are lemon vanilla, coconut honey, double dark chocolate, charcoal, and coffee.
