A one day trip to Lake Kawaguchi-ko near Mt. Fuji

Dec 11, 2019

In early November we had a chance to visit Lake Kawaguchi-ko to, hoping we could see the beautiful view of Mt. Fuji and the red autumn leaves.

We took the bus bounce for Kawaguchiku from Shinjuku Station Highway Bus Terminal.
The bus is operated by Keio and it cost around 4,000 yen for a round trip bus ticket.

We got off at Kawaguchiko Station and after that we took a loop bus bound for Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum.
After arriving at the Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum, we stayed there for a few hours and then leave to see the maple leaves corridor.

The maple leaves corridor is located within a 10 to 15-minute walk from the museum.

Most trees have changed its color to red.

We almost arrived at the maple leaves corridor,
but this scenery took our hearts away so we decided to stay for few minutes to capture some gorgeous pictures for our Instagram accounts.

We arrived at the maple leaves corridor, but too bad the maple leaves were not ready yet.

They were still green, so we decided to walk back to the lake to take more Mt. Fuji pictures.

Although the leaves are still green, you can still feel the season’s beauty of Japan from them.

On our way back to Lake Kawaguchiko, we found many maple trees with autumn colors,
so make sure to check other spots in the area, because the autumn colors are not spread evenly.

The leaves in some areas were still green, and others already changed to orange and red.

When we went there, the sky was not so cloudy, so we could take some beautiful pictures of this legendary mountain.

The maple trees near the bridge has changed its color to orange, beautiful, isn’t it?

The enormous Mt. Fuji, beautiful Lake Kawaguchi-ko, and breathtaking view of autumn leaves melted our hearts away.

We didn’t want to go back, but we had to do so because we have to take the 18:50 bus back to Shinjuku.

On our way back to the Kawaguchi-ko Station we found these beautiful autumn leaves color.

So, Lake Kawaguchi-ko is a great one-day trip destination,
as it is not too far from Tokyo and can be accessed easily from Shinjuku Station.
So, why don’t you visit this wonderful travel destination when visiting Tokyo?
