An exquisite dining experience at Coredo Muromachi Terrace in Nihombashi
Nov 15, 2019
Few weeks ago we went to COREDO Muromachi Terrace, a new area of COREDO Muromachi which opened on September 27, 2019.
Located in Nihombashi area, COREDO Muromachi Terrace offers unique dining and shopping experiences, where many stores host workshops, providing a space for independent creatives.
Curious about the food they offer, we decided to stop by Maido Osaka Kitchen for its savory okonomiyaki (Japanese pancake) and ISHIYA for its mouthwatering and instagenic parfaits.
So we went straight to the basement floor of COREDO Muromachi Terrace to visit Maido Osaka Kitchen. Opened everyday for lunch and dinner, you can enjoy Osaka-style okonomiyaki at this restaurant.
Since we were not that hungry, we only ordered potato salad, grilled asparagus, and Osaka mix okonomiyaki, the most popular okonomiyaki offered by this restaurant.
Picture above is the potato salad we ordered. Unlike other potato salads, the potato salad here is not too mushy and fatty. We could still feel the texture of the potato when we ate it. We liked it so much because it’s not so mushy and not so fatty since they seasoned this potato salad with less mayonnaise.
The next dish is grilled asparagus! We’ve been searching for delicious veggie since yesterday, and apparently this grilled asparagus met our expectations! Grilled perfectly using butter, this grilled asparagus has the best texture; chunky but soft at the same time. Seasoned only with salt and pepper, this grilled asparagus is one of the best small munches you can have before the main dish!
Here it comes the main dish! Osaka mix okonomiyaki!
Served on a medium-sized plate, the size of the okonomiyaki at this restaurant isn’t so huge, but thick.
The thickness of okonomiyaki is usually around one to two centimeters, but the thickness of this okonomiyaki is almost three centimeters! Wow!
Filled with seafood and thinly sliced pork, this okonomiyaki tasted so great. The okonomiyaki sauce was not overly sweet too, and we could feel the flavor of the fish stocks too.

We’re done with dinner so we took the escalator to the 1st floor to visit ISHIYA.
ISHIYA is a sweets shop from Hokkaido, which is famous for its delicious yet instagenic ice cream parfaits. The shop is outside the shopping area, near the main entrance.
We ordered the Japanese sake parfait (nihonshu parfait) and the Shiroikoibito chocolate parfait, because we wanted something sweet to end our night.
Picture above is the Japanese sake parfait, which is not only instagenic, but also gigantic. Filled with strawberry and mixed berries puddings, this gorgeous parfait is topped with vanilla ice cream and cotton candy! The parfait also served together with kuromitsu syrup (brown sugar syrup), matcha bavarian, and of course, a small cup of Japanese sake.
Curious how to eat it? Pour the Japanese sake into the parfait to melt the cotton candy and the parfait is ready to be munched on! Texture-wise, this parfait is more to a cocktail drink filled with jellies and ice cream, so if you’re a big fan of parfait with soft serve ice, then the Shiroikoibito chocolate parfait is definitely your opt!
This one is the Shiroikoibito chocolate parfait!
What makes this parfait special is actually the soft serve ice it’s using.
Yes, apparently this parfait uses the shiroikoibito soft serve ice cream, which tastes milky and chocolatey at the same time. The parfait is filled with chunks of chocolate cake and topped with shiroi koibito soft serve ice, whipped cream, fresh blueberries, and thin chocolate bars. Definitely a perfect dessert for chocolate lovers!
