Honey toast is not only delicious, but also Insta-worthy, and today we introduce Hachi Kuma Café, a small Nordic style café in Ikebukuro, Tokyo that is famous for its Manuka honey French toast.
Located just a 9-minute walk from the East exit of Ikebukuro Station, Hachi Kuma Café is a café specializes in sweets and drinks using Manuka honey; a honey produced from the nectar of the Manuka tree, which known as superfood as well.
Considered as one of the cutest café in Ikebukuro, Hachi Kuma Café is extremely famous among the locals, so the café is always packed for most of the time. If you don’t want to wait in line, we strongly recommend reserving your seats beforehand through phone calls.
We had to wait for several minutes because the café was crowded that time, and after we got inside, we ordered our food and drinks right away.
Since we were so hungry, we ordered a half-sized honey French toast, honey tasting set, iced honey ginger soda, iced coffee, and roasted green tea honey latte.
Our order number was 5, and the staff gave us this cute little bear instead of a paper. Eco-friendly and adorable; Hachi Kuma Café is one of the coolest café in Tokyo, isn’t it?
They finally served our drinks! Iced honey ginger soda, iced coffee, and roasted green tea honey latte; all served beautifully.
The honey tasting set includes 3 small cups of yogurt topped with fruits honey. From left to right: apple honey, berry honey, and honey lemon. The set comes with a piece of biscotti, which you can dip into the honey.
And finally! The honey French toast we’ve been waiting for!
Unlike other French toasts, the French toast here looks like a beehive.
Served with a jar of honey, you can adjust the amount of it based on your personal preferences.
The half-sized includes 8 mini French toasts and the whole-sized includes 17 mini French toasts.
