April is the most beautiful month for cherry blossoms in Japan. Today, we want to introduce you to a special cherry blossom viewing spot that offers a panoramic view of the sea in Ise-Shima.

From this hilltop, you can gaze out over Toba Bay. This area was once home to Toba Castle, built by the Sengoku-era naval warlord “Kuki Yoshitaka” who was known as “Pirate Daimyo.” Additionally, there’s “Shiroyama Park” a popular recreational spot featuring walking paths and open spaces.

During this season, the cherry blossoms bloom alongside “TOBA” sign. When combined with the azure sea in the background, it creates a breathtaking landscape that is a favorite photo location for visitors.

The approach to the torii gate is especially memorable, with lanterns lining both sides of the path and creating a calm, sacred atmosphere. Hozanji Temple was built after a vision of Fudo Myoo. An old Japanese confectionery shop established in 1952. Located right on the corner at the south entrance of the shopping district near the station. A must-try is their “Mixed Juice Daifuku” a dessert made with Osaka’s famous drink. Their soft and sweet fruit daifuku is also very popular.
Niku no Yamajin (肉のやまじん)

Their signature menu item is… “Naniwa Korokke” I have to say, it’s an authentic flavor that you’ll never get tired of, no matter how many times you eat it. It’s a flavor that gives off a homey feeling. Of course, this shop has been meticulously producing sweets for over 70 years.
