5. Flower Viewing Info for Spring in Yoshino 🌼 [April 24, 2025]
When it comes to Yoshino’s spring, everyone probably thinks of the beautiful cherry blossoms that can be seen in a flash on Mt. Yoshino. However, you can also enjoy other flowers at Yoshino Station from Kintetsu.
This time, we will introduce two more types of flowers that are equally beautiful and interesting. 🌸
The first flower is “Yukiyanagi”, which is a small white flower, as its name suggests. It blooms on the thin, hanging branches that look like willows, making it look as if they are covered in snow. This is the distinctive feature of this plant. In the fall, the leaves of Yukiyanagi turn bright red, allowing everyone to enjoy the beauty of the changing leaves.
The next flower is “Asebi”, which is also a small flower. It looks like a hanging bell, like a lily of the valley. The Japanese name is written in kanji for “tree that makes horses drunk” because it is a plant with strong poison. But even though it is a poisonous plant, its flowers bloom so cutely and brighten up the day for visitors to Yoshino Station. 🌸
Finally, the plants along the Kintetsu Yoshino Line bloom to welcome the passing trains throughout the year. Everyone should come and see the various flowers that change with each season!
